Every day, 4,937,945 kg of plastic is disposed of in German laboratories after a single use and incinerated in an environmentally harmful way. This happens even though the material used is mostly made of pure and recyclable polypropylene (PP) or high-density polyethylene (HDPE).
The production and incineration of one ton of plastic produces five tons of CO2.
This is not only bad for the environment and actively contributes to climate change, but the laboratories and research institutes also pay a lot of money to have the waste produced destroyed.
At the same time, recycling companies are searching in vain for new, constant sources for the purchase of high-quality plastic polymers.
We are solving this problem with our digital platform, on which we connect S1 laboratories with recycling companies. In this way, we ensure that plastic waste is recycled along a new value chain.
